My PresentationI have created the above presention using Prezi.com. My intention is to use the presentation as a visual que to discuss the topics mentioned, along with the key points highlighted in each slide relating to Pariser's "The Filter Bubble".
This presentation focuses on how our data is mined and collected in 2016, what it is used for, and, who by. I have decided to conclude my presentation with questions rather than answers, I feel this allows the audience to leave with more interest and further thoughts on the topic at hand. |
Additional NotesDuring the presentation I'd specifically discuss how computer codes and algorithms are advancing day by day, to collect more information and data on each of us.
I'd strongly express my concern for the lack of anonymity online, especially when compared to the rise of the internet. One of the biggest aspects of our lack of privacy online is how there are organisations who's soul purpose is to collect the IP addresses of every device connected to the internet. Their intention is to link each devices with its specific owners and/or users. Pariser speaks of BlueCava in his book, 'The Filter Bubble' (Pariser 111). BlueCava is company that does exactly this, compiling databases of every single internet connected device, with the aim of linking them to their users/owners. |
